Proudly born and bred in Middlesbrough, Angela is a dynamic and dedicated arts advocate for Teesside.
With over twenty years of teaching experience and a hugely rewarding career in secondary education, Angela is committed to creating high quality participatory arts offerings in both educational settings and the wider community. Angela has produced and directed countless youth theatre productions, community embracing arts projects and facilitated arts based workshops. Collaborators have included BBC, Into Film, CBNE, ARC, Northern School of Art and Theatre Hullabaloo.
As a previous leader in Teaching and Learning, Advanced Skills Teacher for Redcar & Cleveland LEA and a research consultant, Angela has mentored and coached teachers at all stages of their careers, led county wide arts-based CPD and has disseminated best practice, including producing the Big Creative Teachers’ Events.
Angela left full-time teaching in 2020 to return to study at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, updating and refining her practice on their MA Acting (Company) course, and achieving Distinction. She has since established herself as a freelance teacher, actor and theatre maker.
